Floor is back with a strong sign of life
First video message after a weakness episode 5 months ago: The Nightwish frontwoman has big plans for 2024.
29. Nov 2023
It was quiet for a long time around Nightwish frontwoman Floor Jansen. After her weakness episode following a Nightwish show in early July, the Metal Goddess completely withdrew from the public eye. The Dutch singer, who was expecting her second child at the time, wanted to take it easy – subsequently canceling all remaining Nightwish shows and solo concerts.
Now, 5 months later, the world is a different place for Floor. Beaming with joy, she returns via a video message on her social media. It's now time to come back to the real world, she says.
I feel fully recovered.
And, most importantly, her two-month-old daughter Lucy and herself are healthy and well.
So, I'm really looking forward.
More solo shows in 2024
Start for Floor's return to the stage is already on December 8th – during a solo show at the famous AFAS Live in Amsterdam (NL). Support: None other than Anneke van Giersbergen.
In 2024, more solo shows will follow – exact dates will be announced later. And: the new Nightwish album will also see the light of day in 2024.
There's a lot going on. I'm already writing songs for my second solo album.
So, there's reason to be excited.
What is already clear: The new Nightwish album will not be performed on tour. The band will take a time-open stage break. Many voices in the music world even doubt that Nightwish will ever be seen live again. However, the band itself has never commented on this matter.
Floor Jansen (born February 21, 1981) is the lead singer of the symphonic metal band Nightwish.
