Female Fronted Metal is dead

Celebrating women in metal

Women in metal? Not a new phenomenon. Women have been at home in all metal subgenres for decades. And yet, even in the 2020s, we still haven't managed to distance ourselves from the genre pigeonholing of "female fronted metal." Why this is a problem? Simple. Women in music don't belong to be degraded as a subgenre of their own, but celebrated as a great enrichment of all metal subgenres!

Dark Divas wants to break these stale chains of thought – and celebrate women in metal, not pigeonhole it as an abstract genre.

Why Dark Divas?

We use the term "diva" in the most original form of the word: "A diva is a celebrated singer, a woman of outstanding talent," according to Wikipedia. In Roman antiquity, only goddesses were entitled to this attribute.
