Anneke van Giersbergen
Anneke van Giersbergen (born March 8, 1973 in Sint-Michielsgestel, Netherlands) is a Dutch singer and guitarist, best known for her work with the band The Gathering.
Role Model for Floor Jansen
Anneke began her musical career in the early 1990s as the vocalist for the band The Gathering. With The Gathering, she released several albums and toured across Europe and the USA. During her time with The Gathering, she developed her unique and powerful voice, making her one of the most well-known female vocalists in the Dutch music scene.
After leaving The Gathering in 2007, Anneke embarked on her solo career, releasing multiple albums under her own name. She also collaborated with many bands and artists, including Devin Townsend, Anathema, and Napalm Death. Her music is a blend of rock, metal, folk, and pop.
Anneke has also participated in projects like Ayreon in the past and founded her own band called VUUR. Additionally, she has ventured into acting and writing, appearing in plays and films, as well as authoring books.

Anneke is strongly committed to social and environmental projects. She has advocated for refugee support and environmental protection in the past. Furthermore, she established a foundation that works for environmental conservation and supporting children in need.
