EPICA unleash new single ‘Avatar – The Final Incarnation –’ and prepare fans for major European tour

Symphonic metal titans Epica return with a powerful new single: “Avatar – The Final Incarnation –”.
Inspired by the Hindu concept of Kalki — the final avatar who restores balance at the end of an age — the track explores themes of liberation, inner transformation, and the breaking of destructive cycles.

Musically, Avatar delivers everything Epica stand for: towering orchestration, fierce rhythmic drive, and a cinematic atmosphere that feels both apocalyptic and uplifting. The release arrives with a stunning visualizer built from the artwork of the upcoming Epica Oracle Card Set, launching worldwide on January 7th.

Guitarist Mark Jansen explains the inspiration behind the single:

“In Hindu philosophy, Kalki represents the final avatar who restores balance at the end of the age. That idea of breaking free from cycles—through self-realization, detachment from desires, and inner transformation—resonates deeply with me. ‘Avatar’ channels that journey toward liberation, something both powerful and universal.”

Vocalist Simone Simons adds:

From January through March 2026, Epica will embark on The Arcane Dimensions European Tour, joined by Amaranthe and Charlotte Wessels’ The Obsession.
