In "A Symphonic Tragedy", Dianne pays tribute to her voice - the unwavering companion throughout her life. After a life-saving but risky operation in which she could have lost her voice, the former Xandria frontwoman opens up through the lyrics of the new song: "That operation saved me, but I almost lost the thing that means the most to me: my voice." The song is a reflection on loss, gratitude and overcoming life's trials.

Impressive Line-up

Behind the single is an impressive line-up: Joost van den Broek as co-writer and producer (Powerwolf, Epica, Blind Guardian) as well as well-known musicians such as Arjen Lucassen from Ayreon, Ferry Duijsens from Ayreon and Vuur or Sander Zoer from Delain. Their expertise adds depth to the song.

Dianne's story is characterized by strength and an unwavering will to face challenges. "The operation was more than 5 years ago. Today I have managed to put all sorts of tragic scenarios behind me and a deep sense of strength has been ignited within me," she explains. Her message is aimed at anyone struggling with health problems. The Dutchwoman wants to provide motivation and comfort.

Album with a five year creation process

The album title "Soulward Bound" embodies the drive and dedication that Dianne has rediscovered on her journey to find herself. In order for the solo album to reflect her journey, "Soulward Bound" will be released as part of a so-called "waterfall strategy": spread over 5 years - 2 singles per year.

All songs on the album are co-written and produced by Joost van den Broek.
