Fragrance Favorites #7: Kristin Starkey

It’s becoming clear that floral fragrance notes are among the preferred perfume choices of our Dark Divas. In part 8 of our little series: Kristin Starkey, frontwoman of the Italian symphonic metal band Temperance.

Kristin starts off with a bit of bad news: the production of her stage perfume has been discontinued. However, she revealed that Kat Von D’s Saint works perfectly for her performances. It evolves beautifully on the skin over time, which makes it especially unique for the U.S. singer. The classic floral fragrance features sweet, fruity main notes of vanilla, musk, and jasmine. The good news: during our research, we found a few dupes that are still available in select shops—so if you want it, you’ll have to act quickly.

For Kristin, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is a match for any occasion. Whether on vacation or at an event, this fragrance is for her “the best of the best.” With top notes of bergamot, mandarin, and rose, heart notes of freesia, jasmine, and orchid, and base notes of amber, cashmere wood, and patchouli, the perfume is floral, sweet, and soft all at once. “I love that it’s both sweet-floral and musky at the same time,” she says.

For special occasions, Kristin also recommends Bloom by Gucci. This fragrance favorite highlights its floral character with a top note of jasmine, a heart note of tuberose, and a base note of iris. It’s also a perfect choice for hot summer days.

For men, she’s especially fond of Pour Homme by Karl Lagerfeld. It opens with top notes of mandarin and lavender, followed by heart notes of violet and apple, resting on a base of amber and sandalwood. She particularly loves this woody fragrance because her husband wears it regularly.
