The album “Aspiral” takes its name from a bronze sculpture by Polish artist Stanisław Szukalski from 1965. EPICA sees this work as a perfect metaphor for their new album: “Every detail is a work of art in itself, and the story goes deeper than you first think,” explains the band. Each song stands on its own with its own atmosphere and meaning, while together they form a great body of work.

Creative process

Aspiral” was once again produced by Joost van den Broek at Sandlane Studios. With 11 new tracks, including the rousing title track “Cross The Divide”, EPICA once again demonstrates its versatility and creativity. The music video for the song “Cross The Divide”, gives a first insight into the band's new musical direction. “We wanted to create something that both honors our symphonic metal roots and breaks new ground,” says the band.

Several editions

“Aspiral” will be available in various formats. Particularly noteworthy are the Collector's Boxsets, which contain the 5-CD Earbook as well as exclusive 2LP vinyls and an EPICA coin. For those who prefer to enjoy the album digitally, there is the 2CD Digipak with the Aspiral CD and the Blu-ray of “Live at The Symphonic Synergy”.
