Black Sun is an Ecuadorian-Finnish melodic heavy metal band that was founded in Ecuador by Nicolas Estrada (drums), Christopher Grünberg (guitar) and Santiago Salem (bass). After their first single "Slay The Queen", the first with a new line-up, which attracted attention with strong vocals and catchy choruses, Black Sun have now released their second single "Drown In Sin".
It's a song about the decay and wickedness of humanity. Karma as the narrator, adds an interesting turn of events in which he promises a kind of justice with the sentence "I will wipe them all out". A very strong and emotional video has also been released, once again showing the band's passion. On the band's last album "Silent Enemy", the band worked with Finnish producer/sound engineer and Thunderstone guitarist Nino Laurenne. During the recording sessions, they talked about making music together. The result? Nino joined the band and is now the guitarist in Black Sun. The musician himself says: "After working with the guys as a producer, we became really good friends, which eventually led to me becoming a guitarist in the band. Joining Black Sun has made me want to play in a band again. I can't wait to get on stage with Santiago, Nicolas and Christopher. And with Netta on vocals, it's going to be the most fun."
"Band based on friendship"
In addition to Nino, singer Netta Laurenne (Smackbound, Laurenne/Louhimo) has also joined the band as the new lead singer. "Black Sun is a band based on friendship and a shared passion for music. "Spending time together and making music together is great," adds Netta. A new album has also been announced, which will be released on 6 September.
