Nicole Ansperger
Nicole Ansperger is a German musician. She plays violin with Eluveitie. The talented musician has also mastered the cello.
Nicole Ansperger's talent was discovered in early musical education at the age of three. Due to her good ear and motor skills, she was recommended to learn a string instrument. At the age of six, she became a pupil of violinist George Moradian. He encouraged her talent and allowed her to develop her own style. Under his guidance, Nicole won the "Jugend musiziert" talent competition at the age of eleven. Shortly afterwards, she gained experience in a youth orchestra.
As classical music did not suit her musical taste, she came to folk rock some time later via The Hooters cover band Jonny B. Numerous festival appearances brought her to the attention of other bands. This was followed by guest appearances with various bands and musicians such as Billy Goodman and Sean Tracey. In 2004, she was hired by The Hooters for their tour of Germany. This brought her to the attention of the German folk rock band Paddy Goes to Holyhead (PGTH). From 2005 until the end of 2013, she was a permanent member of PGTH and frequently played as a guest musician with Jamie Clarke's (former Pogues guitarist) band Perfect. In 2005 she produced her first CD with Jo Naumann (keyboarder and singer with PGTH).
From July 2008 she also played in the band Across the Border.
In December 2013 she became a member of the band Eluveitie, which she left in 2015 and rejoined in 2017.
