Melissa Bonny
Melissa Bonny (* January 23, 1993, in Montreux) is a singer and songwriter from Switzerland. She is the frontwoman of Ad Infinitum and The Dark Side of the Moon.
After completing school, Bonny was active in a cover band near her hometown in Montreux, Switzerland.
In 2012, she joined the Swiss symphonic folk metal band Evermore as a singer.
In 2015, she also started with the band Trance Metal and the band Rage of Light.
By 2018, her time with Evenmore came to an end, and Melissa Bonny founded her band, Ad Infinitum. Besides vocals, she also writes lyrics and composes songs for the band.
In early April 2021, she announced her departure from Rage of Light.
In mid-July 2021, together with other musicians and her partner Morten Løwe Sørensen (drummer of Amaranthe), she founded the side project The Dark Side of the Moon.
In the Power Metal band Warkings, she also acted as a guest musician under the pseudonym Queen of the Damned on both albums and during live performances.
From Fan to Singer
Melissa started listening to metal at the age of 18. "It's a whole different experience, and now I know both sides. It's fun to play your own music in front of an audience and see how people react to it." Melissa is known for her guttural voice. She didn't have to practice for it, saying, "I'm just a bit more exhausted coming home from the studio than from the first album," says the Swiss singer.
