Jennifer Haben
Jennifer Haben (* July 16, 1995) is the founder and frontwoman of the German symphonic metal band Beyond the Black.
Jennifer discovered music at a young age. She started piano lessons at the age of six, followed by the saxophone at nine. She formed her first band in her fourth year at school. The school band "Speed" was formed together with her brother. Her father then made a video for RTL that gave her experience of the spotlight at a young age. At the age of eleven, she won the KIKA competition "Best Voice 2007" - and in 2008 she and her band "Speed" won a youth band festival and a day in the recording studio. This was followed in 2009 by victory in Super RTL's "Hannah Montana Singing Competition". She released her first single and an album with the girl band "Saphir" in 2010. With Saphir, Jennifer performed on stages all over Germany for the first time.
Band Crisis in 2016
In 2014, she founded Beyond the Black together with fellow students from the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg. The band played their first gig at none other than the Wacken Openair. The band quickly gained great popularity in the scene. A band crisis in 2016 almost sealed the end of the band. Jennifer emerged from the crisis as the only remaining member - and found the ideal line-up for the band in Chris Hermsdörfer (guitar), Tobias Lodes (guitar) and Kai Tschierschky (drums). Beyond the Black has released four albums to date.
Jennifer Haben was introduced to a wider audience in 2019 with her participation in the VOX show "Sing meinen Song".
