Jennifer Haben
Jennifer Haben (* July 16, 1995) is the founder and frontwoman of the German symphonic metal band Beyond the Black.
From student and girl band to symphonic metal
Jennifer discovered her passion for music at a young age. At six, she began piano lessons, followed by saxophone at nine. She formed her first band in the fourth grade, "Speed," with her brother. Her father introduced her to the spotlight at a young age by sending a video to RTL. At eleven, she won the KIKA competition "Best Voice 2007," and in 2008, with her band "Speed," she won a youth band festival, earning a day in a recording studio. In 2009, she won the "Hannah Montana Singing Contest" by Super RTL. With the girl band "Saphir," she released her first single and album in 2010, performing on stages across Germany.
Band Crisis in 2016
In 2014, along with fellow students from the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, Jennifer founded Beyond the Black. The band's debut was none other than at Wacken Open Air. The band quickly gained popularity within the scene. A band crisis in 2016 almost marked the end, leaving Jennifer as the sole remaining member. She then found the perfect lineup for the band with Chris Hermsdörfer (guitar), Tobias Lodes (guitar), and Kai Tschierschky (drums). Beyond the Black has released four albums to date.
Jennifer Haben came to the attention of a larger audience in 2019 with her participation in the VOX show "Sing meinen Song."
