Floor Jansen

She began her musical career in 1997 as the lead singer of the symphonic metal band After Forever. The band broke up in 2009. Her subsequent band ReVamp was disbanded after Floor joined Nightwish.

Her unique vocal volume has brought her attention far beyond the metal genre - this is one of the reasons why she is known in the scene as the "Metal Goddess". After her participation in "Beste Zangers" in 2019, the Dutch version of "Sing meinen Song", Floor embarked on a solo career in her home country. In spring 2022, Floor was also seen with great success on the German-language edition of the show on VOX.

In October 2022, Floor was diagnosed with breast cancer during a routine examination. She subsequently underwent surgery, during which the tumor was completely removed. This was followed by radiotherapy in January 2023 to prevent the cancer from spreading. Floor is currently considered to be completely cured of cancer and was able to complete the Human. Nature's European tour and her own solo tour following the release of her first solo album Paragon, which started just a few weeks after her surgery.

However, the last two planned Nightwish shows had to be canceled due to a bout of weakness.

In the fall of 2023, Floor became a mother for the second time.
