Melissa Bonny is no stranger to the scene: as the voice of Ad Infinitum and The Dark Side of the Moon, she has made a name for herself internationally. Now the musician is going her own way – and releasing her first solo album, Cherry Red Apocalypse, on 23 January 2026, just in time for her birthday.

The album campaign kicked off on 14 August with the first single, ‘I'm a Monster’. Musically, Cherry Red Apocalypse offers a mix of metal and pop rock spread across 13 tracks (including an interlude). Three more singles, including music videos, are planned in advance.

What makes this project special is that Melissa is releasing the album independently, without a label or major PR machine. Everything depends on the direct support of her community – and so far, they have been enthusiastic.

Lots of guest musicians on board

Musically, Melissa is not alone: Morten Løwe Sørensen, Vikram Shankar, Korbinian Benedict, Adrienne Cowan, Fabienne Erni, yu umehara, Jonas Wolf, Adrian Thessenvitz and Hans Platz are among the guest musicians featured on the album. The album was produced by Vikram Shankar and Jacob Hansen.

The album title Cherry Red Apocalypse promises exactly what Melissa has always embodied: contrasts, intensity and emotion.
