Blackbriar release piano parlour version of "The Fossilised Widow"

The Dutch band Blackbriar has a special gift for all fans of the morbid and mystical: a ‘Piano Parlour Version’ of their song The Fossilised Widow, originally released on their current album A Thousand Little Deaths.

The new recording, reduced to vocals and piano, was recorded, mixed and mastered by Joost van den Broek. The result is an impressive, vulnerable version of the song that puts singer Zora Cock's voice centre stage.

‘We have re-recorded an intimate piano and vocal version of our song The Fossilised Widow,’ explains the band. ‘Our music comes alive especially during the dark season – and this ghostly interpretation was created especially for those wonderfully eerie autumn nights.’
